Young People's: Discovering Great Melodies
*The event has already taken place on this date: Thu, 03/02/2017
Discover what makes these melodies so unique and experience the thrill of a live camera feed, giving students an up-close and personal view of our very own Minnesota Orchestra musicians!
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Students will investigate five key components to an unforgettable melody: rhythm, mood, communication, repetition, and our favorite, the element of surprise! For example, have you ever noticed that the famous “gallop rhythm” in Rossini’s upbeat William Tell Overture is the exact same rhythm that opens Mozart’s moody Symphony No. 40?
A homeschool workshop will be available for this performance. Registration begins in late summer 2016. Curriculum materials will be available 6-8 weeks before the performance.
