Our historic urban campus is located in the thriving Eat Street neighborhood just south of downtown Minneapolis, a short walk from Fair Oaks Park, the Children’s Theater Company, and the world-renowned Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Every school day, we welcome the company of more than 280 students, from preschool to eighth grade.

Waldorf education understands that developing human potential requires far more than just academics. At City of Lakes Waldorf School, we help children use their natural curiosity to create their own path -- intellectually, physically, and emotionally.

Our vision is to bring learning and experience to our students at the right time and in the right measure – to encourage the natural unfolding of their myriad capacities – so they remain eager to gain knowledge and experience of the world, and grow strong to face the future. Waldorf education’s singular understanding of the child, developmental approach, and deep commitment to whole child learning provides a remarkably healthy foundation for children to grow into young human beings who are ready for further education, and able to develop all of their unique capabilities in order to meet and shape the world.

Graduates of CLWS are known for their lifelong love of learning, versatility to excel in and enjoy both the arts and the sciences, and deep sense of understanding the value of relationships and community.
