Learn to cook like the farm women did in 1900 on the wood-fired stove in our 125-year-old historic Harris house. You will prep, cook and eat a rustic lunch of beef stew, biscuits with butter, lemonade and dessert. Time is 9am to 1pm. All supplies included.
The trades include the blacksmith, carpenter and print shop. You will get an introduction to basic labor skills for operating the machines and tools in these buildings in Dakota City, and may have a chance to make an item to take home with you. Time is 1:30pm to 4:30pm. All supplies included.
Learn 4 different handcrafting skills: knitting, cross stitch sewing, sewing on the treadle machine and hat decorating. In our historic buildings you will make items to take home with you. Bring your own hat to decorate; all other supplies will be provided by Dakota City. Time is 1:30pm – 4:30pm.
Preregistration with payment necessary by April 27, 2020. Register through Farmington, Lakeville, Rosemount or Northfield Community Education.
