The Butterfly Garden features more than 40 different species of North American butterflies and moths, fluttering in a beautiful environment that includes a small stream and a diversity of plants. This interactive exhibit demonstrates the butterfly life cycle, including stages as a caterpillar, chrysalis or cocoon, and adult. Zoo staff and volunteers will explain various butterfly activities including pollination, mating, and egg-laying.
Hours: Open daily June 17 through September 4, from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m (weather permitting)
Location: The Butterfly Garden is located at the end of the Tropics Trail path
Price: FREE—included in general Zoo admission
